My wife thinks I'm crazy. Behind the shed sits a Selway Fisher dory on a Harbor Freight Trailer and a Welsford Tender Behind. Unfortunately they are both in bad shape after years of sitting outside.
I could repair the Tender Behind—it had a good bottom paint and sat on blocks covered with a tarp. I built it with my son nearly ten years ago but he never took to sailing. With a week or two I'll get it in shape to donate to some Sea Scouts where it will make a wonderful trainer. The Fisher dory's plywood hull is delaminating. I extended its life by a year with a layer of fiberglass for some good trout fishing last summer but it's time to salvage its hardware and replace it with something else.
But what's more fun than building another boat? Not much! The hard part will be cleaning the garage. (LOL).
